Millions of people have given all their precious years to the profession for a pittance, knowing fully that any other work could have brought them better incentives. Incidentally, most of them have the ability and talent to obtain other jobs or to set up an enterprise of their own which would lead to greater financial returns. On the whole, they have more raw material that is precious than many other professions. Yet their loyalty to the profession is remarkable. No list of awards could ever cover the experience of all who have worked devotedly in this field; only a small percentage can be offered as an inspiration to those who may be keen on opting this field as occupation.
  • Fulfillment which come from the feeling that what is being done is humanly important: witnessing and sharing in the development of individuals mentally, physically, socially, aesthetically, morally; equipping youth with tools to stand on their own feet.

  • Job guarantee and security that is based on dependable pay, fixed hours of work, and almost a certain tenure and retirement benefits; tax concessions on salaries, insurance cover, yearly LTC, Medical allowances, the planned school calendar year, and sufficient super-annuation income;

  • The social status of the teacher has improved impressively during the recent decades. The participation in community affairs, membership in social organizations, and selection to lead social causes are the best indicators of social acceptance. The Bursar, athletic coach, Art master, Kindergarten teacher, dramatics tutor, or Principal are not only admired and respected, but the citizens would love to walk and talk with them.
