What Code of ethics is expected of educational workers?

The teachers any where in the globe have a varied and inescapable duty in moulding children; Such responsibility requires the services of enlightened literate citizens of high ideals and profound human understanding; 

It is the duty of the teacher to be just,, courteous, and skillful in all his relations with pupils. He should study their individual differences, aptitudes, etc

The professional interaction of a teacher with his pupils and colleagues demand the scrupulous care and confidential rapport. A teacher should not disclose any information obtained confidentially from his pupils, unless it promotes the interests of the child.

A teacher should seek to establish a welcome rapport between home and school. 

Every teacher should inculcate in his pupils an appreciation for the ideals of modern political systems and philosophies. He should encourage free and frank discussion of appropriate current issues and practice of democratic principles. A teacher should refrain from using his prestige and position to promote dirty politics, views of a particular sect, race or religion, or selfish propaganda of any kind.

A teacher should not place his personal pleasures above interests of the public good. He should be loyal to the land to which he belongs. However, he can exercise his right to express constructive criticisms. A teacher's life should show that education makes people into better quality citizens and better neighbors. He should encourage competent and sincere citizens to enter the teaching profession and discourage those who plan to mis-use this profession merely as ladder to some other employment.

It is the bounden duty of the teacher to maintain his own efficiency by self-learning and by tours and travels in order to keep him abreast of the modern trends in education. He should participate unselfishly in one or the other professional organizations. However, he should avoid the promotion of organization rivalry and divisive unhealthy competition.

School officials should nurture the professional growth of all teachers by rewards or awards. 

A teacher should avoid unfavorable criticism of other teachers except that it concerns the welfare of the school. He should not accept a commission, royalty, or other compensation for endorsing books, other stationery, etc in the selection or purchase of which he can exert influence.
