The most neglected lot of students are the gifted and the talented. Everywhere, even in the established and reputed institutions, it is the same phenomenon. The gifted and talented are either ignored or sidelined since the teacher assumes that these kids know everything or can manage on their own without the help of a teacher. The average teachers at times victimize the gifted and talented since these pose awkward and difficult questions for which the teachers do not have any answers. Some other times the gifted are asked to take up the role of the student teacher so that they train up the other backward children who lag behind in scholastic achievement. There is hardly any special program from the end of teachers to deal with the gifted. Teachers, by and large, do not create challenging environment so that the gifted and talented can reach the levels of extra-ordinary in nature. No concrete encouraging attempt has been made to further nurture the talent levels of this kind of composition. No activities were designed to meet the intellectual level of this kind of children. Though some schools recruit trained professionals, they neither satisfy the appetite of this kind of children nor follow suitable mechanisms to step up the interest towards the higher levels of problems. Besides, fundamentally, it is not a cake walk to identify the gifted and talented due to some outmoded systems that are plaguing the schools or the easy going mechanical nature of running the schools.
