B. Arch. is a five years course after 10 + 2 or equivalent examination. Any student who has studied Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry can apply for the admission into a College of Architecture. Engineering drawing is a useful subject for prospective Architecture.

The Council of Architecture conducts an aptitude test on an All India basis for Colleges of Architecture (Both Government and Private). Department of Architecture in Engineering colleges select students on the basis of the results of the Common entrance examination common to Engineering courses. Other renowned institutions have special selection tests/Personal Interview to identify suitable candidates. Some weightage may also be given to class XII marks. Only Science (with Physics, Chemistry and mathematics) students are considered for admission to the course.
